Mission Statement

The Bella Foundation is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization based in Oklahoma City created to assist low-income, elderly or terminally ill pet owners with the cost of veterinary care when it cannot be afforded and also find permanent loving homes for rescued animals.

Every year thousands of animals are euthanized or sent home to die because the people who love them cannot financially absorb the cost of veterinary care.  Stray and abandoned animals have even fewer options when brought into a clinic or veterinary office with no owner to pay for their care.

At The Bella Foundation, we believe every animal deserves to receive the best possible care regardless of the owner’s ability to pay.  When an owner brings an animal into a clinic for care and cannot afford the cost, the attending veterinarian can contact The Bella Foundation for assistance. If assistance is given, the owner must agree to volunteer 8 hours of their time at either The Oklahoma City Animal Shelter or their local shelter.  Stray or abandoned animals are cared for with no stipulation attached.  We also require that every animal sponsored by us be spayed/neutered and micro chipped.  Micro chipping is an inexpensive way to reunite lost pets with the owners who are responsible for them.

Every animal adopted into a loving home by Bella is spayed/neutered, vaccinated, heart worm tested, and micro chipped to give them the best possible start in their new life.

CJ

CJ is a very wonderful Pitt Bull that we rescued from going to a local Shelter. Thanks to the cooperative efforts of City Animal Hospital, Neel Veterinary Hospital and The Bella Foundation he now has a new home with a loving family.

Sue

When SUE was referred to us for treatment she had Parvo and was a very sick little girl. After spending a week in the hospital, Sue was much better and was able to return home to the people who love her. Sue is one of the luck ones, most puppies don't survive. Sue wants everyone to learn from...
We found River hobbling around our front yard about a week before Christmas. She was small and scared and injured. We wrapped her in a towel and took her to a vet, only to find that her pelvic bone was broken in several places. Not being able to afford the surgery on our own, we contacted The Bella...
I adopted Goldie, now known as Chivas, in May 2012.  Since then she has charmed everyone I know and she is the sweetest little puppy.  Her favorite thing is to play with squeaker toys and chase her feline sister Abby.  I think she is the greatest dog ever.    Thank you...
